Ofsted

Key Points from our most recent Ofsted report:

Summary of key findings for parents and pupils

This is a good school.

  • School leaders at all levels have high ambition for their pupils and staff. They are committed to improving the school continually. Staff share leaders’ ambition and vision. All work hard to provide the best for pupils.
  • Leaders have improved the quality of teaching, learning and assessment. They have ensured that staff are well trained and continually reflect on the impact that their work has on pupils.
  • Leaders are currently reviewing the curriculum. There are many extra-curricular opportunities that support pupils’ learning.
  • Parents and carers are overwhelmingly positive about the school and the support provided by staff.

  • Standards have risen over time and pupils now attain in line with national averages. Current pupils, including disadvantaged pupils, are making good progress in reading, writing, mathematics and phonics.
  • Children in Reception enjoy a wide range of exciting play and learning activities. They make rapid progress from starting points that are often low.
  • Staff work very hard to build positive relationships with pupils and their families. They use these relationships very well to make sure that pupils are engaged in their learning.  As a result pupils' behaviour and attitudes to learning are good.
  • Staff plan exciting learning activities that help pupils to make good progress.
  • Provision for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) is a strength of the school. The support that these pupils receive enables them to make exceptional progress.
  • Pupils are very happy at the school. They are proud of the school values and the way that everyone works well together.
