Bromstone Primary School
Parent Governor Elections
Are you interested in becoming a Parent Governor/Governor for our Federation?
What does this role involve?
The parent governor role is strategic rather than operational. Governors don’t get involved with the day to day running of a school, instead supporting and challenging the school’s leadership team to drive school improvement across Bromstone Primary School and St. Mildred’s Infant School.
Parent governors usually attend around 6 meetings a year (in school hours and after school hours). Being a parent governor is a commitment and a responsibility, but offers you the chance to see first-hand the impact you can make in improving education for children in your community.
This is a voluntary role. What skills do I need?
A parent governor will need the following skills:
- strong commitment to the role and to improving outcomes for children;
- the inquisitiveness to question and analyse, and the willingness to learn;
- good inter-personal skills;
- appropriate levels of literacy in English;
- sufficient numeracy skills to understand basic data.
- preferably, a background of Health and Safety
I am interested. What do I do now?
We have one vacancy. To express your interest or for further information please contact the office via email at office@bromstone.kent.sch.uk by Friday 9th January. Mrs Jan Brazier (The chair of Governors) will be in contact in the next term.
