COVID - 19 (Coronavirus) - School Information Update 13th March 2020

Bromstone is currently following guidance and advice from the Local Authority and Public Health England and will continue to monitor the situation.

Your child should self-isolate if they have:

  1. A new or continuous cough and/or
  2. A high temperature.

If you confirm that your child is self-isolating they MUST NOT return to school for 7 days. Their absence will be recorded as Coronavirus related.

If another member of your family is in self-isolation then your child should still attend school.

The guidance and advice we are following is available on the government website at

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-to-educational-settings-about-covid-19/guidance-to-educational-settings-about-covid-19

In addition the Department for Education has launched a new helpline to answer questions about COVID-19 related to education:

Details on self-isolation can be found at:

If for any reason we need to contact parents and carers concerning the schools position the usual communication channels will be used, namely text messages, email and the school website.

The school will NOT be closed unless instructed to do so by Public Health England.
