Welcome Back!

Welcome Back!

Dear Families,

The first day back will be Thursday 2nd September 2021.

We are excited to welcome you all back to Bromstone to the start of a new academic year. Hopefully you all had a wonderful break and have made some memories in our new normal times!

Although we are very relieved to say that the Government have decided that lots of the measures that were in place last year are now not necessary, there are some details that we need to inform you of for this forthcoming term that have been outlined to us by the Department for Education. We will also be keeping some of the procedures that we introduced because they have been beneficial to the children.

The Department for Education have informed us that a child should not attend school if they are displaying symptoms of Covid-19, and if they start to display symptoms, they will need to be sent home from school. Therefore, if you inform us that your child is displaying any of the following symptoms we will ask you to get them tested before they return to school. These symptoms are as follows: high temperature, new continuous cough, or a loss of taste or smell.

The measures that we will be keeping are the staff meet and greet for the start and end of the day, lunchtime arrangements, and children coming in to school on their PE day wearing their PE kit. We will also be asking you not to come in to the school building at any point but rather to phone the office or email the office at hello@bromstone.kent.sch.uk and someone will get back to you on the same day.

PE days are as follows:

Monday: Year 1

Tuesday: Year 3

Wednesday: Year 4

Thursday: Year 2 and Year 5

Friday: Year 6

Children will not be doing PE on the first day back but year 6 will have PE on Friday.

The children are required to wear navy-blue or black shorts and a navy-blue Bromstone PE t-shirt. They need trainers OR plimsolls and for Years 3,4,5 and 6 they will also need football boots. They are allowed to wear a navy-blue or black tracksuit over the top of their PE kit but they will need to be wearing their shorts and t-shirt underneath the tracksuit for their gymnastics lessons, for health and safety reasons.

If you require a place at Breakfast Club or After School Club you will need to book this on-line at www.schoolmoneyco.uk. It can no longer be booked via the office.

If your child is attending Breakfast Club they will to access the main entrance (side gate) at 8am. This gate will be closed at 8.05am.

Drop-off arrangements

The gates will be open from 8.40-8.50am at which time all allocated year groups for that gate may come through the gate simultaneously. We will keep the one-way system in place.
