Bromstone Primary School

Term 5

Welcome back to Term 5!

Our big question this term is: What happens when there is conflict?

Our Year 1 question is: How can we be a good friend?

English

This term in Year 1, we will be writing an adventure story based on 'The bear and the piano' by David Litchfield. Children will have the opportunity to use their knowledge of sentence structure and descriptive writing to write their story. Later on in the term, we will learn about poetry and children will write their own spring poems.

Maths

This term we are continuing our learning about multiplication and division by starting the term by learning about recognising and adding equal groups. We will also be learning about fractions and recognising halves and quarters of a shape and a quantity. Through practical activities and hands-on learning, children will develop these skills. We will finish the term learning about position and direction.
