Home Learning

Reading at Home

By Year 6, many children love getting stuck into a really good book at home! Please ensure they are reading for at least 20 minutes a day. This could be with you or independently.

Each child will choose an appropriate book and it will be their responsibility to change it when needed. Reading records will be check on Tuesdays and/or Thursday in Arundel and on Monday in Pevensey.

Spellings

Spellings will be going home on a Thursday so please encourage children to learn these daily. We will be learning them in school as well.

Times Table Rockstars

When possible, we would also like children to continue learning their times tables using Times Tables Rockstars. Please contact us if you are unable to login as we will be able to send their information to you. The link is below.

English and Maths support

Each child will also have an IXL login. It is here they can access support on topics within English and Maths that they may have struggled with in the classroom and they can practice.

Why lead when you can follow?

This term's whole school question is:

Why lead when you can follow?

We would like to encourage children to explore this question at home if they would like to! The children are not expected to complete this home learning but many children enjoy researching and making things at home, so we have collected a few ideas! It may even be celebrated in Celebration Assembly!
