Reading Expectations

In Year 6, we would like children to be read a minimum of 3 times a week. They will be given a banded book as well as a reading for pleasure book (this one may be taken home or stay in class). Reading records will be checked every Monday, so please make sure they are signed and in school.

Spellings

Year 6 will receive new spellings each week to learn in school and at home. These will be tested and changed on a Friday.

SAT's Busters

Every Friday, children will be bringing home a book called SAT's Busters. It will either be Reading, Maths or SPAG. They will be completing 1 test at a time unless they are told otherwise and will be collected in on Monday of the next week. 

Termly Home Learning ideas

Each term, we will upload a new set of home learning ideas below, based on our over-arching, whole-school question. If your child would like to do some additional home learning, we would love to see it!

There is no expectation to complete additional home learning, but we love to celebrate and share any projects your child creates.

IXL

Children in year 6 will continue to have access to the IXL home learning portal. You can access IXL by clicking the link or by downloading the app from the Apple App store of Google Play store.
