We have been continuing to love books this term, enjoying our Reading for Pleasure time and being Bromstone Book Champions!

 

 

The children have had lots of visitors this term, including paediatric nurses, police, firefighters, charity workers and the coastguard.  The children have been inspired by these real-life superheroes and many have said how much they would like to do similar jobs when they grow up!

 

 

In English, Grandad from the story Grandad's Journey came to talk to the children all about his life and the objects he had collected from all over the world.  The children were inspired to use this in their wonderful writing!

 

 

In science we have been learning all about materials and carrying out experiments including making an umbrella for Grandad, in case it rains on his island.  I wonder what material would be best to use? We also had to find the most absorbent material because Miss John's dog keeps having accidents on the floor at home, knocking over his water bowl, oh dear!
