Term 5 -How do you grow a better world?

We can't wait to begin our learning in Term 5, thinking about our whole school Big Question...

What happens when there is conflict?

Year Two will be exploring this our Big Question, How do we Grow a Better World?

We will be looking through different 'glasses' in each discipline to explore this, trying to find answers offered by each unique discipline.

In English, we will be inspired by the book series 'How to Train your Dragon' and how solving conflict in our own fantasy stories helps grow a better world!

In Science, we will be finding out how conflict between plants helps to grow a better world and the processes that allow this, whilst helping the world of plants to nurture our creativity in Art, growing collages of floral and fauna from scratch...

In Music, we will listen and perform songs inspired by the conflict between wind, rain, sunshine and storms!  In PSHE, we will explore how and why we need money and how this and create and solve conflicts and see how different jobs and create a better world.

This term in Design and Technology the children have designed, create, improved and vaulted their very own windmills!

In science this term we have been learning all about plants.  We have learnt about their life cycle, different types of plants, what plants need to grow and survive and the different parts of plants.  We have been growing cress and sunflowers in our investigation too!

We also had a brilliant Bromstone bash, celebrating the king's Coronation in May...

In History the children loved sharing memories of special times in their past....

We hope all the children and their families have a lovely half term and we can't wait to see the amazing learning Term 6 will bring!
