We have a 5 year plan for forest school; this includes some fantastic ideas to maintain the site and add lots of different natural elements to the site.
Currently we are trying to focus on the fairy garden, mud kitchen and a bug hotel.
The fairy garden is a fairy sanctuary, they have a house which the children will see for the first time week beginning 9th May. When the fairies are happy in their environment they leave 'fairy breath' which we turn into fairy bracelets. A fairy garden is a great stimulus for imagination and creative thinking. Any donations of wind chimes/pretty dangly things we can hang from trees in our fairy garden would be greatly appreciated.
The mud kitchen is a chance for children to experience role play in a natural environment, we have real objects (as opposed to plastic play objects) in the mud kitchen for the children to experience more of a real life role play. It is still in it's early stages of development and we would be grateful for any donations of any old saucepans/mixing spoons/kettle/toaster....
You can see the mud kitchen from the corner gate, by the roundabout, but we ask that children do not go on this before or after school.
The bug hotel is where the children can observe bugs and woodland life up close. It is a tall 'tower block hotel' made from wood, bricks, pipes and anything else we can get our hands on! Again, this is still in it's early stages but hopefully we can entice some bugs to come and live there.
