We are looking forward to an exciting year of learning with you all.
Lewes Class: Miss Fright, Miss Barnfield and Mrs Boundary.
Richborough Class: Mrs MacFarlan (Monday and Wednesday), Mrs Swallow (Tuesday, Thursday and Friday), Miss Brown and Mrs Wood.
Our P.E lessons are on Tuesdays. As we did last year, please can the children come to school in their P.E kit on that day. They will need shorts and trainers / plimsolls all year round (for indoor P.E. lessons) and jogging bottoms for the colder months.
Please could you also ensure your child has football boots for every P.E lesson as they will be using the field throughout the winter.
During term 3, the children will be participating in swimming lessons on Friday afternoons.
Today is World Down Syndrome awareness day. It was chosen as March as this is the third month and the cause of Down Syndrome is the triplication of the Chromosome 21 and the chromosomes like socks. The Emphasis is that everyone is unique, it’s okay to be different and the important of inclusion.
Black History Month
For our learning, Year 3 studied 'Notting Hill Carnival'.
We found out about the Caribbean, why the carnival was created and discussed what life must have been like for the Windrush generation.
All our hard work and learning about the Caribbean culture led us to produce our own carnival event, which also included Caribbean music, costumes and food.
